March 2025

March 7, Joe left for a P8 Rally in Chandler Arizona. He Met Teri, Kevin and Stever the believer. Kevin set up a Native Nations table at the Rally. Right after the event Joe left for Gallup New Mexico. The Snow around Payson Arizona was beautiful, thankfully not on the road. Sunday Morning the 9th Joe and Mark Mathison who lives in Gallup went south to Zuni Pueblo to the Zuni Reformed Church. 10 years ago Joe, Gabi, Steve and Patricia did a 2 day 12 step training right after the church did Life’s Healing Choices. They’ve had a CR up and running ever since. they did pause during Covid as quite a few reservations closed down during Covid. After church they had lunch with Joe at Chu Chu’s Restaurant in Zuni Pueblo where we talked, Prayed and laughed together.

While in the Farmington, Fruitland and Shiprock New Mexico area where Derek and Ginger the Ministry Leaders at the CR in Shiprock blessed Joe by opening their home for 5 nights Monday the 10th through Friday the 14th. A major blessing! Derek set up Joe sharing his testimony at 5 different CR’s each night of his stay. Sharing where your strength and hope come from that many days in a row taxes you physically, mentally and spiritually. Emmanuel Baptist Church, Joe Barela ML. House of Mercy in the Four Corners, Chuck Reich ML. Salvation Army, Lt. Christopher Rockwell, ML. Red Rock Chapter House, Chuck Reich ML.and Aztec Church of the Nazarene, Wes Lisenbee ML. How very cool meeting so many new people and forever friends I have already met. On Tuesday Morning in Shiprock we had breakfast with Joe. Derek Made Sausage gravy and biscuits and we ate at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Farmington. Saturday the 22cnd Joe headed to Las Cruces to meet up with Jan Thomas the retired prison warden who started CRI. In Albuquerque he stopped and had lunch at Herencia the new restaurant opened by Henrique Valdavinos one of the State Reps for CR. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!

Jan and Joe connected in Las Cruces where Jan gave Joe a tour of the city. Joe shared his testimony at University Presbyterian Church, Paul Thomas ML. It was an awesome worship center. Las Cruces is beautiful with the surrounding mountains. Tuesday morning Joe left early as they were expecting 30-40 mile an hr sustained winds and 60-70 miles per hr gusts starting around noon. highway 10 closed later that day with visibility below 400 yards. It’s a 10.5 hr drive from Las Cruces to Rancho Santa Margarita. Definitely a long day. The next trip is being planned. Blessing Joe.
