Our Purpose
To teach Christ – centered 12 Step Recovery Programs on as many reservations as possible; and eventually conducting job and life skill training.
Mission
Joe Clark set off from Orange County Airport on Labor Day (Sept 4), which meant he had to skip the annual Labor Day smoked ribs night at his home CR Campus. Since he didnโt bring his clubs, there was no golf planned, so he chose to go to see the spectacular Mount Rushmore the day before the training since he had some time to spare. This was definitely a โGod – Incidenceโ (Joe doesnโt believe in coincidences) as he saw some of the men (Derek, Eldon, Claye, and Jon 3 Native American gentlemen from Shiprock) who he was planning to meet the next day for the training.
The training was a huge success as 24 people attended, which was the same number as the very first Navajo training. The timing was once again all Godโs as they started their first CR program about 2 weeks after the training, at Eagles Nest Life Center. There were people from the State Capital of Pierre, two Pastors Pastor Gus and Pastor Cheryl, and the State Rep Annie and her husband Alan. Annie and Alan gave their very powerful couples testimony. Another friend Eldon from Shiprock also did his Testimony, which was also a huge Blessing to the group in attendance. The trainers modeled and demonstrated what a Large Group meeting looked like. They also taught and modeled both how Open Share Groups and Step Studyโs should go. The main takeaway is that all of the basics were covered, and they group had what they needed to keep it going. They discussed how to foster Senior Pastor support, the importance of Testimonies, and how to reach out to others in the community. The Leaders there committed to start meetings on Fridays and in checking back, they did just that whereas it took almost five years to get started with the Navajo. There is a lot of promise and hope in the fact that they are finally gaining traction in growing the program, so more and more people can learn about Hope and Healing through Christ.
โLet each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others.โ โ Phil 2:4
